Rotary Club Makes Math Mania Donation

Problem of the Week starting 4-26-10

Grades K - 3:

Mrs. Jones had 40 spring flower bouquets at her store. She sold 20 bouquets by 10:00.

How many bouquets were left after 10:00?

Grades 4 - 5:

Mrs. Martin was going to fill her garden with flowers. She bought five 6-pack containers for $2.50 each and a flat of flowers for $10.50.

If she paid with $30, how much change will she get back?

Grades 6 - 8:

It took Travis 2.5 hours to complete 3/4 of his trip. He traveled the remaining 52.2 miles in 1 hour.

Find his average speed for the whole trip.
