Galen Culver

On February
27th, almost 50 students from five area high schools attended this year's
event, which catered to those interested in careers in Mass Communications
and Journalism. Sessions were led by professionals in marketing/public
relations, newspaper, radio, and television. Keynote speaker
Galen Culver from KFOR in Oklahoma City, best known for his segment "Is This A Great State or What!",
also stayed for an afternoon session, working with the students on creating
a Great State segment from concept to final edit. Also in the
afternoon, students went "on the air" on a simulated radio broadcast, doing
news, commercials, and interviews. Other students produced a segment
of Community Talk, running camera, audio, graphics, directing, and
performing on stage.
